赤い表紙には金色の装飾が施され、背表紙にはドイツ語で「キリスト教徒の妻のための祈祷書」と記されています
中を開くと、当時の活版印刷によるフラクトゥール（ひげ文字）が美しく、挿絵として天使の銅版画が添えられています
また、フランスの聖女テレーズが描かれたアンティークのホーリーカードが1枚挟まれており、大切に使い継がれてきた歴史を感じさせます
200年以上の歳月を経て、紙の端には時代相応のヤケやシミが見られますが、それがかえって重厚な風合いを醸し出しています
見返し部分のマーブル紙も鮮やかで、本棚に置くだけでも独特の存在感を放つ一冊です
